missionS trips
We believe that it is essential for Westerners to learn about people from around the globe. Not to exploit or change, but to observe and learn from people that are not the same. Our Hope and vision is to invite others into a network of community experiencing the love of Jesus.
“For the Western person themselves who go on a trip, there’s also a focus put on their development and deepening their relationship with Christ.”
— Kerry Ghent, Ray of Hope President of Board
WHAT TO EXPECT
when you join a Ray of Hope missions trip
You’re welcomed here with us.
No matter your age, gender, sexual orientation, or religious background - we welcome all who are open and willing to learn and spread the love & hope of Jesus Christ to join us on these trips.
We believe anyone can have access to the redemption of Christ, as long as their hearts are open to receiving.
Our hope in bringing other Westerners with us to the Hope Centre in Uganda is twofold.
One, we believe that exposing Ugandans & Westerners to each other benefits both communities. It teaches two groups of humans who live radically differently that we are all just people who have different things to teach each other.
Two, we believe that this fusion of cultures is a tender opportunity for growth and development for all - both spiritually and culturally.
When you join us for a trip you are free to participate in and observe any Hope for Others programs, explore the 11-acre property, or offer support and service wherever needed.
It is a time for you to reflect, learn, and grow as you encounter and learn from the Ugandan culture and community.
The purpose of the mission trip is to Go love and be loved by others.
